Body Transformation Weekend Event Details
Here is all the information that we think you might need to show up fully prepared to enjoy the entire weekend experience!
Star & Snake is located at 41 Kelsea Ave, Center Harbor NH which is the corner of Kelsea Ave and Bean Rd. You can’t miss us – we are the big white church on the hill with the snake on its steeple! We are two hours north of Boston, MA. From Boston, there are daily buses to the Center Harbor bus stop which is a 10 minute walk from our doorstep. If you drive we have parking for about 25 cars along our driveway.
Price for body modifications will be determined by your artist. Additionally, we ask for a donation between $60-$180 per person to help defray the costs of heating, water, meals and staffing this event. Exceptions made if cost is prohibitive to attendance.
Date and Time
This is a closed container and we respectfully request that you are able to attend for the duration of the event so as to be respectful to the group. Please plan to arrive by 7pm on Friday April 22nd and to stay until 5pm on Sunday April 24th.
Center Harbor is a tiny little town (1,100 residents!) on Lake Winnipesaukee in central New Hampshire. We are in a residential area a couple minute walk from the center of town where you can find a grocery, liquor and hardware store, a great little diner, one of the biggest quilting stores in the country (so you are covered as far as calico goes) and the small town beach. All these convenient things go hand in hand with the fact that although we are in a tiny town, we are not rural. Please be respectful to our neighbors and keep your nighttime noise down and your clothes on when outside the building.
Star and Snake is a 5000sqft building comprised of a former Catholic Church built in 1903 and a attached modern house. All sleeping space for attendees is open and communal so please bring your camp cots, blow up mattresses, warm bedding, earplugs and anything else you need to sleep comfortably.
Lunch and dinner each day will be shared. Please bring something to contribute – organic veggies, grains and legumes are always useful as are teas and coffee. There is a grocery store down the hill for last minute needs and we have 2 refrigerators which should hold any of our personal food as long as we store it wisely. If you would like to give your energy by helping prepare one or more of the meals we would love that!
Booking Body Mod Appointments
If you are getting work, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know which artist you would like to work with, for what kind of mod and if it is a tattoo, a description of the image and we can help schedule you and connect you with the artist.
We are planning to hold a loose format of Birth, Sustenance and Release in correlation to the 3 days of the event. Perhaps your body mod falls clearly into one of these categories, thus giving you a sense of what day you would like to get tattooed on. And if it doesn’t seem to, no worries! We trust that everyone who is drawn to attend will find the perfect timing for their transformation.
In preparation for your body modification you are welcome to take part in a ritual bath and energy work or meditation in our altar room.
You do not need to be getting body mods to come and enjoy this weekend. Come and take part in the ritual by holding space for those getting work done. We need drummers, body workers, readers and energy workers! If you have a service that you would like to share during the weekend that will support the overall theme of transformation, please let us know on the event page.
Any other questions that come up, feel free to post to the Facebook event or email us directly!
